The Burnett Honors College designs and oversees the academic programs of the most promising undergraduate students at UCF. The IFC leadership trip is a 4 day program design to educate, engage and equip the members with the applicable skills to further enhance their chapters and individual members.

The mission of Multicultural Academic and Support Services MASS is to maximize student success by assisting Multicultural and First-Generation College Students in their transition to UCF and by connecting with the University community and our partners to promote and facilitate academic support services and programs.

Some incoming Knights have their career path drawn out, while others get stuck on which major to pursue. First-generation, low-income and traditionally underrepresented students who plan on continuing at the doctoral level are invited to apply for the McNair Scholars Program.

At UCF, we celebrate diversity and applaud the dedication it takes to be the first person in your family to attend a university. It is comprised of many services and programs. Familiarizing yourself with a new school can be difficult for many students, but we understand multicultural and first-generation students face additional challenges.

Implementing and improving student programs is a one big, important job. Because we want our students to succeed, all undergraduate students are required to complete a UCF Orientation component prior to registering for classes. The Out of State Student Mentoring Program OSSM-pronounced "awesome" provides all freshman, out-of-state students with an upper-class peer mentor that assists students in their transition to university life in a new state, as well as offers opportunities that help students get involved at UCF and connected to the Orlando community.

Calling all outdoor enthusiasts and adventure seekers! From hiking, biking and climbing to rafting, paddling and camping, students of all experience levels are welcome to take part in the activities our team offers.

UCF Outdoor Adventure also offers accessible and inclusive outdoor equipment so every Knight can enjoy the outdoors. Though you may have left home to attend UCF, your parents will still want to know what your daily school life is like. Getting and staying fit takes work. For some of us, it takes a little motivation, too. Our team of nationally accredited and certified personal trainers are available for fee-based, minute sessions all year round.

Better yet, your first session is free. A job well done is its own reward, but Phi Eta Sigma is another way of patting yourself on the back for your achievements. Academic Alert is a program that targets students who are placed on academic probation after the first term for students who enter in the Summer or Fall.

Integrative Learning for Professional and Civic Preparation, is a five-year plan that prepares undergraduates for success in their professional and civic lives. Smoke-Free UCF offers programs and prescriptions to assist students and faculty members in breaking the habit.

Six-week classes led by Quit Smoking Now facilitators are available for groups and individuals. Classes are free and include nicotine replacement therapies, such as gum, lozenges and patches. If you are a student in recovery, know that you are not alone. We understand the challenges of being in recovery, especially on a college campus. As a result, students are able to flourish in academics and in their personal lives. Take control with stress-reduction techniques designed to help you decrease anxiety, increase focus and concentration, and improve sleep.

Searching for a job? Be sure your resume is updated and outstanding. An invitation-only program, SOAR takes place over six weeks during the summer. Service Learning at UCF is a teaching method that uses community involvement to apply theories or skills being taught in a course.

With opportunities for recreational, instructional and competitive growth, Sport Clubs are perfect for students who were athletes in high school or students who are looking for new challenges.

Beginners are always welcome! Choose from more than 40 club teams, including paintball, kiteboarding, tae kwon do, ice hockey, lacrosse and volleyball, and compete in intercollegiate events across the country. SLS is a small, engaging elective course for first-year UCF students to give incoming Knights an inside look at what it takes to be successful at school and in life after graduation.

The Student Academic Resource Center SARC provides high-quality academic support programs, including tutoring and supplemental instruction, retention programs, and various other academic programs and services. Suicide is the second-leading cause of death among college students, but it is also one of the most preventable causes of death.

Can you spot the warning signs and help make a difference? With our suicide prevention course, you will be trained to QPR — question, persuade and refer — someone who may be suicidal. This three-day, pre-research course prepares students to get involved in research early in the academic career at UCF. Need a boost in biology or extra help in organic chemistry? Be sure to check out Supplemental Instruction. SI sessions are open to all students who want to increase their understanding of course material and improve their grades.

These voluntary, peer-assisted study groups offer students a chance to compare notes, discuss important concepts, develop strategies for studying and quiz each other before big tests. Ready to make a splash by learning how to swim or becoming a better swimmer? The UCF Aquatics team is ready to help. Our certified Water Safety Instructors provide swimmers of all levels—beginner, intermediate and advanced—with free group lessons during the spring, summer and fall.
